Allein die Zahlen sind monströs: Mindestens 60.000 Menschen haben laut einer aktuellen Studie zwischen 1996 und 2016 ihr Leben im Mittelmeer verloren. Eine von ihnen war die 6-jährige Jennifer, die am 6. August 2013 bei der Überfahrt von Marokko nach Spanien zusammen mit ihren Eltern ums Leben gekommen ist. Mehrere Aktivist_innen von Europe-Interact kannten die kongolesische Familie aus Marokko und berichteten von ihr. Ausgehend von diesen persönlichen Erzählungen hat die ebenfalls an Afrique-Europe-Interact beteiligte Liedermacherin Franzis Binder ein Lied in Gedenken an Jennifer geschrieben. Es erzählt die Geschichte ihrer Familie und benennt zugleich, wie das Massensterben im Mittelmeer bereits morgen Geschichte sein könnte. NO „YES, BUT….“ FOR JENNIFER. SONG AGAINST THE MASS DROWNING IN THE MEDITERRANEAN – WITH ENGLISH AND FRENCH SUBTITLES (FRANZIS BINDER AND ANNE FRISIUS)
The sheer numbers are horrid: According to a current study at least 60.000 people have lost their lives in the Mediterranean between 1996 and 2016. One of them is the six-year-old Jennifer, who died together with her parents while crossing the sea from Morocco to Spain on the 6th of august 2013. Several activists from Afrique-Europe-Interact had known the Congolese family from Morocco and gave an account on them. On the basis of these personal narratives the songwriter Franzis Binder, who also is a part of Afrique-Europe-Interact has written a song in remembrance of Jennifer. It tells the story of her family and at the same time points out how the mass drowning in the Mediterranean could be history already tomorrow. PAS DE „OUI, MAIS…“ POUR JENNIFER. CHANSON CONTRE L’HECATOMBE EN MER MEDITERRANEE – AVEC SOUS-TITRES EN ANGLAIS ET FRANCAIS (FRANZIS BINDER ET ANNE FRISIUS)
Rien que les chiffres sont déjà monstrueux: selon une étude actuelle, entre 1996 et 2016, au moins 60.000 personnes ont perdu la vie en Mer Méditerranée. L’une de ces personnes avait 6 ans et s’appelait Jennifer. Elle est décédée le 6 août 2013 avec ses parents lors de la traversée du Maroc vers l’Espagne. Plusieurs activistes d’Afrique-Europe-Interact connaissait cette famille congolaise du Maroc et ont fait le récit de cette famille. C’est à partir de ce récit personnel que la compositrice de chansons Franzis Binder, faisant également partie d’Afrique-Europe-Interact, a écrit une chanson en souvenir de Jennifer. La chanson parle de l’histoire de sa famille, et en même temps montre comment l’hécatombe en Mer Méditerranée pourrait devenir l’histoire de demain.
